Koh Larn repaired damaged buoys off Samae Beach and moved broken plastic bars off the shoreline to make the island safer and look nicer.
Island officials were embarrassed when photos of broken swimming-zone buoys appeared on social media. A day later on May 30 workers were out doing overdue maintenance on the neglected equipment.
Officials blamed the damage on strong waves from a recent storm that crashed the buoys into rocks.
The plastic bars were removed May 16, they added, noting the social media photos were old. (PCPR)
