Pattaya police backed by soldiers checked a half-dozen area motorcycle-taxi stands to clarify and lay down new rules.
No problems were reported at the six taxi stands checked, other than one where authorities ordered the Vin Motorcy group to upgrade seating and shade areas for waiting customers.
The primary purpose, however, was to lay down the law on new and often-ignored policies.
Motorcycle stands are required to post signs with fixed rates to certain destinations and not cheat customers. Drivers must dress properly, refrain from gambling and not drink alcohol while working. Taxi stands must not intrude on public property.
