A young lemon seller saved the life of a depressed and drunk man when he cut the would-be suicide victim down from a tree in Plutaluang.

Sorn Nanuan, 44, was alive but barely breathing when paramedics arrived at the traffic island near the entrance to Soi Saladaeng Aug. 7.

Oomchai Sritayae, 21, said he was headed to work at the market with is family when he saw Som hanging from the 10-meter-tall tree. He climbed up and cut him down in time to save his life.

Som obviously was depressed and a bottle of whisky was found near the tree.
