Police are searching for a suspected local mobster who allegedly kicked down the door of a heavily tattooed rival and shot him in the chest as he lay in bed.
Promrin Satyaso, 24, underwent surgery at Pattaya Memorial Hospital May 20 for a single gunshot to the chest.
Eight witnesses reported that a man known only as “Kaek” had burst into Promrin’s Charoendee Apartments room on Soi Samroeng Furniture after midnight, held him down with his foot and fired one shot into his chest.
Although described as a petty criminal by police, Kaek was feared among witnesses and was said to have a bad temper. No motive for the shooting was immediately known.
