The Dusit Thani and T Six 5 hotels were the big winners at the Thai Hotels Association Eastern Region’s Professional Challenge and bartender competitions.
Pattaya City Councilman Rattanachai Sutidechanai and Chatchawan Supachayanont, general manager of the Dusit Thani, opened the Aug. 18 competition that featured activities, shows, and an arts contest.
The objective was to develop the abilities of employees providing services for tourists in various fields.
Competitions included professional bartending, cake-making and decoration, tapas arrangement, ice carving, spa decoration, massage, flower display, dining table arrangement, and preparation of a signature seafood dish.

Ten teams participated in the highlight “Thainess Pattaya Bartender Contest” with Wichan Feungsuwan from A-One The Royal Cruise taking first place. Nobpharit Fangham from the Pattaya Hotel placing second and Atitaya Tothaisong from Siam@Siam Design Hotel taking third.
The Miss Bartender contest was won by the Dusit Thani, with the Zign Hotel and Long Beach Garden Hotel & Spa placing third.
The Classic Cocktail Bartender contest saw Onanong Sawangsaeng from The Zign take first place, Tanawin Muangkham from the Cape Dara Resort second, and Artthapon Sareewong from Mountain Beach Pattaya third.
Dusit Thani GM Chatchawan Supachayanont is obviously enjoying taking part in the opening activities.
The Spa Booth Decoration Challenge was won by Chan Spa Cosy Beach Hotel with the Royal Garden Spa at the Pattaya Marriott Resort & Spa placing second and the Dusit Thani third.
The Thai Massage Competition was won by Jurairat Nookam of the Royal Garden Spa. Wiparat Chunkla from Cape Dara Resort placed second and Janjira Watiwong of Chan Spa Cosy Beach took third.

The Flower Freestyle/Christmas Display contest was won by the A-One Royal Cruise with the T Six 5 Hotel taking second and the Dusit Thani third.
Western Table Setup with Floral Arrangement was captured by the Dusit Thani with Centara Grand Mirage Beach Resort placing second and the Bayview Hotel third.
Wedding Cake Decoration saw the Woodlands Hotel & Resort take first place, the Long Beach Garden second and T Six 5 third.
Freestyle Fruit and Vegetable Carving was won by T Six 5 with the Dusit Thani placing second and Cape Dara third.
The Seafood Signature Dish competition had the Woodlands come out on top, with the Centara Grand Mirage capturing second place and Cape Dara third.
Happy young maidens add flare to the contest.
The Tapas Display contest also was won by the same hotels in the same order.
Finally, the Ice Carving competition was won by Yuthaporn Nanwichai, Sirawit Thangthong, and Ronnasit Dangkaew from the Amari Orchid Resort & Tower. Second place went to Somchai Kumpoo from the Dusit Thani and third to Montree Pengbua from Long Beach Garden.
