Military officers educated local administrators on current terrorist threats in Thailand and ways to prevent attacks at a seminar in Pattaya.

Deputy Mayor Banlue Kullavanijaya opened the May 30 training for the “Development of Mass Networks for Transnational Terrorism and Crime Response Plan” with representatives from the Command and General Staff College, Naval Ordnance Division, Chonburi Internal Security Operation Command, and National Intelligence Coordinating Center Area 1.

The seminar aimed to provide knowledge and understanding on the movement of transnational terrorism and crime cells inside Thailand, as well as set guidelines to prevent and fix problems.
Col. Derek Deeprasert, deputy commander at the college, lectured on threats from transnational groups, national security, intelligence, counterintelligence, suspect object detection and safety operations.

Lt. Rittipol Kiewon of the ordinance division talked about explosives disposal while Tanat Suwannanon, director of the National Intelligence Coordinating Center Area 1, added his own advice. (PCPR)
