Police are looking for a private service minivan driver on break from working the Sattahip – Bangkok route, who robbed a prostitute and left her on a dark East Pattaya street.
The 25-year-old woman met police at a PTT gas station on Sukhumvit Road in South Pattaya. She confessed that, when she got in the van, the driver offered her 3,000 baht for sex. She agreed and the two went to a hotel.
Once the deed was done, however, the driver said he needed to stop at home to retrieve something, she said. However, he drove onto a dark street, pulled over and snatched her purse. He told her to get out of the van or he would kill her.
The bag contained 3,000 baht and an Apple iPhone. Police again warned the public to be careful of private minivan services.
