The Pattaya Health Department sprayed pesticide and distributed abate around Walking Street to curb the chances of tourists catching dengue fever transmitted by mosquitos.
Disease Control Division employees were out March 1, fumigating alleys and drainage areas and checking for standing water that could be used as mosquito breeding grounds. They also handed out pamphlets to educate residents and business owners on the need to keep areas tidy to prevent the insects from multiplying.
