The mother of a toddler was critically injured while protecting her son in a Pattaya car crash.
Rapassa Tipakanon, 35, suffered severe head wounds and substantial bleeding in the Sept. 2 wreck on Sukhumvit Road. Driver Kiathi Sapap, 28, suffered minor injuries, but Rapassa’s 2-year-old boy escaped unhurt.
Witness Vicha Jindanin, 35, said he saw the car speeding down Sukhumvit when it suddenly lost control and slammed into the wall of a house. Rapassa shielded her child from the impact, but took the full brunt of the crash.
She was treated at a local hospital.
