A former naval officer died when his motorbike was struck by a speeding teenager in Plutaluang.
Retired Lt. Cmdr. Somkiat Chedkewa, 66, was pronounced dead at the scene of the June 3 crash on Highway 332 in front of the Plutaluang Sub-district office.
Pineapple vendor Yuim Sopung, 52, said Somkiat had just purchased fruit from him and was pulling out into traffic on his bike when he was hit Songporn Udomsin, 18, who was speeding down the highway on a Honda Wave.
Songporn suffered severe injuries and was transported to Queen Sirikit Naval Medical Center before police arrived.
