A motorcyclist was killed when he was struck by a van while making a U-turn on Sukhumvit Road.
Somchoke Thungpila, 36, died instantly in the Aug. 26 accident in front of Roda Villa. Part of his motorcycle was still under the Nissan van stopped 200 meters away.
Van driver Anan Prom-eaw, 33, said he was on his way to drop off employees of a Bowin factory when he saw Somchoke idling at a U-turn. He said he honked twice to warn the biker not to enter traffic, but he cut in front of the van anyway, leaving Anan no time to stop.
Police said they would investigate Anan’s side of the story, checking CCTV cameras to see his account matches reality.
