A jealous sailor fatally shot his teacher girlfriend before turning the gun on himself in a teacher’s dormitory at Pattaya’s Wat Nongket Noi School.
Mattayom 1-3 teacher Manita Rithlamlert, 30, was shot once at the base of the neck by Petty Officer 1st Class Prathan Sawangarom, 37, Aug. 5. Prathan then shot himself once in the temple with the 11mm weapon.
Teachers told police they’d seen Prathan parked in front of the school around 5 p.m., then approach Manita as she left the building. Those who knew the fallen teacher said her boyfriend was extremely jealous and possessive and tried to force Manita to accompany him in his truck. She refused.
Manita Rithlamlert was tragically gunned down in a murder suicide by her jealous boyfriend.
Witnesses said Prathan then dragged Manita by the arm to the male dormitories, where the argument continued. He pushed her inside one of the houses and, shortly after, teachers heard two shots.
School staffers deflated Prathan’s tires to prevent him from fleeing, but it turned out to be unnecessary: When they opened the dorm room, they found the couple lying dead in their own blood.
