Ten monks performed the religious ceremony and chanted before they were treated to a morning meal.

Virath said the ceremony was held to pay homage to HM the late King 15 days after his passing. Like the seven-day ceremony and the 30-, 100- and 365-day services to come, they honor His Majesty who worked hard for peace and unity throughout his 70 years on the throne.

The ceremony concluded with a moment of silence before participants repeated the phrase His Majesty said 70 years ago:  “Roaw ja krong pandin duay tham” or ‘I will reign over the country with righteousness for the people of Siam”.
