A Vietnamese boat masquerading as Thai-registered was captured by a navy patrol boat in Sattahip Bay.
The HTMS Tor 95 intercepted the boat about 30 nautical miles from Koh Jung May 9. It had its Vietnamese markings painted over and was flying the Thai flag. Five Vietnamese fishermen were arrested.
The navy boat also impounded a Thai-owned boat, the Choktavornsamuth 2 owned by Manatsanan Jirawongpattana of Trat. While Thai owned, it was manned only by five Cambodians, a violation of Thai labor law.
Both boats and their crews were taken to the Sattahip Naval Base.
