PATTAYA – Nearly 1,300 sailors prostrated themselves in formation to spell out a message in honor of HM the late King Rama IX.

Vice Adm. Ratanah Vongsarojn, commandant of the Royal Thai Marine Corps, led the 1,289 enlisted men and officers in the formation on the field at its Sattahip headquarters Oct. 18.

While wearing dress white uniforms, they spelled out the Thai numeral 9 and the message “you will be in our heart forever, Royal Thai Marine Corps, Royal Thai Navy”.

Vice Adm. Ratanah said the military is grateful to the late monarchy and sailors wanted to show their loyalty and devotion.
