Navy plants 2,600 tress to mark Crown Prince’s birthday

Sattahip military and government officials marked the 60th birthday of HRH the Crown Prince with the planting of 2,600 tress in Ban Chang.

Royal Thai Navy Vice Adm. Chainarong Charoenrak presided over the July 26 ceremony at the Bangpai Reservoir with Pravit Thomwatho, abbot of Samnak Kathon Temple, and officials from Samnakthon District attending.

Navy spokesman Capt. Hiran Nakthong said temple officials had organized the planting of the cotton plants, which will be harvested to make robes for monks to use in November’s Kathin ceremony. The navy joined in to help the temple raise funds for a new hall, as well as commemorate the prince’s July 28 birthday.
