Seventy-four navy reserve personnel learned marine battle tactics during the Thai Marine Corps Officer Advanced Training course in Sattahip.

Capt. Chusak Bunthat led the Oct. 17 session at Prince Chumphon Camp, which saw reserve personnel currently attending universities around the country study the theory of ocean-based battle tactics.

Instructor Capt. Khwanchai Khamsom said 18 officers took the fourth-year program, which offered the basics of various sciences and trained petty officers and deputy platoon leaders battle preparation.

The rest of the personnel took the fifth-year course, which offered training required by high-ranking officers and platoon leaders about warfare, including weaponry and hand-to-hand combat tactics.

Chusak said students observed real responsibilities handled by marines in the short training time for military course. He urged officers to work hard during the 11 days of training, stay within the regulatory bounds with good behavior and become the quality reserve forces for the navy.
