The Sattahip Navy Base cooperated with Sattahip City to restore clean water to the Nong Takian reservoir for Abhakara Day.

Vice Adm. Wipark Noijinda presided over the Prince Chumphon Park event to commemorate the 92nd anniversary of the death of Adm. Abhakara Kiartivongse, Prince of Chumphon and the “Father of the Thai Navy”, with volunteer and health clubs, plus the general public.

Mayor Narong Bunbancherdsri said the popular park has a large reservoir, Nong Takian, that is polluted with untreated wastewater and sewage. The city has worked to infuse the water with oxygen and installed some water-treatment equipment, but the job is unfinished.

The Abhakara Day activity saw participants install aerators and water-treatment equipment. Others added ionic plasma enzymes to promote natural cleansing of the water.
