The Royal Thai Navy helped make Loy Krathong festive for 200 Bangkok residents who’ve been taking shelter in Sattahip after fleeing floods that swept through their homes.

The Air and Coastal Defense Command set up pools for the refugees residing at two Aviation Brigade hangers to release their floating flowers, candles and incense and wish for better times to come.

The Nov. 10 festival also featured traditional dancing and entertainment from the Durian Band.

For the evacuees, which have faced the loss of homes and jobs in the country’s worst flooding in six decades, it was a happy evening that promised that good, normal times will come again.
