NCPO thanks law enforcement officials for work during New Year festivities

According to Deputy Army Spokesperson Col Sirichan Ngathong, NCPO Secretary-General Gen Teerachai Nakwanich expressed his gratitude to police officers, military personnel and civil servants for their service to the public in December.

In organizing both auspicious ceremonies and celebratory events for the New Year, officials setup checkpoints to deter commuters from driving under the influence of alcohol and have vowed to return confiscated vehicles to the public.

Officers arrested over 3,000 motorcyclists who have committed traffic offenses and seized 555 motorcycles. Officers arrested over 1,600 cars and public transportation motorists and seized 172 licenses and 451 vehicles.

Law enforcement officers will continue to service commuters on their return trips and will still crackdown on those drinking while driving.
