PATTAYA, Thailand – The Thai Meteorological Department has announced that a new moderate cold air mass is spreading over upper northeastern Thailand, causing a drop in temperatures and strong winds in the region.
According to the department’s 24-hour weather forecast, the high-pressure system or moderate cold air mass from China has already reached northern Vietnam and is expected to move over upper northeastern Thailand on Monday. This weather pattern will lead to cooler temperatures and strong winds in the Northeast, while the North will experience similar effects the following day.
The northern and northeastern regions will see cold to very cold weather, while the central region, including Bangkok and surrounding areas, as well as the eastern and southern regions, will experience cool mornings. Mountain peaks will see very cold to freezing conditions. The public is advised to take precautions against the cold weather and be mindful of fire hazards due to dry conditions.
Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon over the Gulf of Thailand and the southern region remains weak, resulting in waves of about 1 meter in the Gulf.
