There were seven new clusters of COVID-19 infections covering altogether 204 patients in four provinces while Bangkok logged the most new daily fatalities, according to the Center for COVID-19 Situation Administration.
The CCSA said the new clusters were at automobile and metal joint companies in Chonburi province, wire and electrical appliance companies in Samut Sakhon, Ratanatham and Indochine markets in Sa Kaeo and a sack company in Pathum Thani.
The country had 188 new COVID-19 fatalities on Aug 3 and Bangkok had the most deaths at 92. They had chronic diseases that worsened their conditions.
As many as 101 victims among the death cases either lived in or visited outbreak areas, 25 caught the virus from family members and 44 contracted it from other people including friends and colleagues. Ten death cases visited crowded areas and two had risky jobs. (TNA)
