Pattaya has begun laying wider water pipes on Thepprasit Soi 17.
Workers from contractor Sukasem Co. began digging up the old lines Oct. 2 with plans to replace them with 30-centimeter-wide piping along the entire street from Ton Pho Market to the Hanuman statue.
The work actually has been ongoing for a month and is estimated to be complete by around Oct. 16.
The previous 15-cm. piping was old and would often break, causing water outages to local residents, contractors said.
