Beach chairs will be banned from Koh Larn’s Samae Beach on Wednesdays in order to promote a more-natural environment for tourists, Pattaya officials said.

City spokesman Pinit Maneerat said March 23 that Koh Larn Office Director Chaowalit Praditpruk was ordered to clean up Koh Larn’s beaches as part of an effort to promote it better with international tourists.

Already, however, 5,000 people a day visit the island leading to a massive backlog of garbage. Previous Pattaya administrators had talked about limiting the number of visitors.
