The odd-even parking rule is in full effect—park smart or pay the price.

PATTAYA, Thailand – Pattaya authorities have tightened parking enforcement on South Pattaya Road in an effort to reduce traffic congestion and improve pedestrian safety. As of February 3, parking is strictly prohibited on alternating odd and even dates from 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM along the 850-meter stretch between the Communications Intersection (Pattaya Third Road) and the Wat Chaimongkol Intersection.

Despite the new rules, many drivers continue to park illegally, leading to increased enforcement measures such as wheel clamping and towing. Confusion over signage and language barriers has caused both locals and foreign visitors to inadvertently break the rules.

Social media users have reacted strongly to the situation, with one commenter sarcastically stating, “With this many clamps, are you guys still parking illegally? ” while another emphasized the ongoing crackdown, saying, “No excuses for breaking the odd-even parking rule! ”

Authorities urge all motorists to follow the regulations to avoid fines and vehicle immobilization. Compliance with the odd-even parking system is essential for keeping traffic flowing smoothly and preventing unnecessary penalties.

With clamps everywhere, some drivers never learn! Follow the odd-even rule and avoid the hassle.
