Trade and vocational schools took the spotlight as Central Festival Pattaya Beach hosted the Non-Formal Private Education Fair to help people without university educations to get good jobs.
Saowanee Panatsorn, deputy secretary of the Office of Private Education Promotion Commission, opened the Oct. 2 event at the beachfront mall with former MPs, provincial educators and Pattaya business leaders attending.
Non-formal private education has become an important part of Thailand’s education system, but is not well understood. The fair hosted 20 booths from schools, academies and training centers that both educated prospective students and signed up new ones.
Organizers said the schools offer opportunities for the unemployed and those without formal educations to improve their employment prospects.
