Nong Nooch Tropical Garden celebrated the birth of its 98th elephant and the first male born in 2021.

Named Pempoon, the pachyderm born to mother Thongkoon and father Bird made its debut May 5 with a garland presentation ceremony led by park Director Kampol Tansajja.

Kampol called the birth auspicious for the tourist attraction. He noted that Pempoon is the 120th calf sired by 43-year-old Bird, the park’s No. 1 breeder.


Pempoon was the 98th elephant and the first male born in 2021.
