Government officials explained to the inspectors that Nongprue not only operates a school for young children, but supports the elderly and organizes volunteers to look after people in disabled centers and women’s health care.

The group next paid a visit to Nongprue Kindergarten to inspect activities taking place there.

A welcome show by pupils was staged, as well as displays of what the children are learning, such as traditional herbal foods, wood carving and traditional Muay Thai boxing.

All activities concerned are supported and coordinated by parents, teachers and community members and the people of Nongprue are quite confident that they will be receiving a second royal award.

Nongprue Kindergarten became the first in the Pattaya area to win royal recognition in August as one of the region’s largest nurseries.

It is given to municipalities for local development. Nongprue is aiming for winning three consecutive rewards, which will earn it a golden trophy, the highest royal award.

The first award was granted for Nongprue’s cleanliness, honesty and focus on development. The second prize can be given for peace, harmony and friendship amongst community members. The golden trophy is awarded to those local areas that have shown outstanding results in coordinating with the government and development of the private sector.
