More than 100 health volunteers learned about the power of natural remedies at a two-day seminar in Nongprue.

Nongprue Deputy Mayor Suwat Rachathawattanakul opened the Jan. 18-19 workshop featuring a lecturer from Apaiphubesorn Hospital in Prachin Buri, who spoke about climate change and pollution that can cause harm to human health.

He said medicine cannot cure all ills and, in some cases, natural remedies can do the job that narcotics can’t.

He also discussed eating habits, which he said can make people vulnerable to illness.

A two-day seminar in Nongprue to raise awareness of how eating well and using natural remedies can cure diseases enjoyed a good turnout of people eager to learn about the power of natural remedies.

There are many herbs that improve the immune system to fight diseases, the lecturer said. They include raw tamarind, cardamom, turmeric, sage, cinnamon, peppermint, basil and ginger. These herbs and spices, if consumed daily will strengthen the immune system as well as offer a unique taste to our everyday food, like soups, stir fry and salads.

The objective of the project was to raise awareness of how eating well and using natural remedies can cure diseases.
