Nongprue municipality launches Thai ID card services

Governor Thawatchai Srithong gives valuable advice to a Nongprue municipality staff as Mayor Winai goes through the process of getting a Thai citizen ID card.

PATTAYA, Thailand – Chonburi Governor Thawatchai Srithong presided over a ceremony to inaugurate the issuance of Thai identification cards to Thai citizens at Nongprue Municipality in east Pattaya on October 25, 2023. The event marked a significant step in the municipality’s commitment to Thailand’s Digital development.



The initiative began when Nongprue Municipality formally requested an assessment for citizen identification card services, which received approval from the Department of Provincial Administration, Ministry of the Interior, affirming the municipality’s commitment to advancing digital services for residents.

Key figures attending the event were Chaiyaphon Phaiphonrat (Provincial Secretary of Chonburi) and Pisit Sirisawasdinakul (Chief of Bang Lamung District) and Winai Intpitak (Mayor of Nongprue Municipality) who made history by becoming the very first person to receive a Thai citizen identification card through the newly launched service.
