Nongprue said it was well prepared for the rainy season finale, but admitted the areas outside the Pattaya city limits benefit from being on high ground.
Sanitation Chief Berkchai Ninpan said Sept. 11 that no major flooding was expected in the coming weeks, as problem areas already were fixed and much of the sub-district sits on high ground.
Nongprue has worked diligently to dredge storm-drainage canals and installed drainage systems in both Tropical and Sukame villages, where flooding has been constant for more than 10 years.
Water flows from higher land downhill into Pattaya City, which is in Nongprue Sub-district, he said. But responsibility to solving flooding lies with Pattaya City Hall, not the municipality.
