Nongprue Sub-district schools have pledged to reduce use of plastic and foam starting on this year’s World Environment Day.

Representatives from Ban Nernplabwan, Wat Boonsamphan, Baan Nernplabwan Community, Nongprue Municipal Kindergarten, Wat Tungkom, Wat Kao Pho Thong, and Sawangboriboon School, plus Thai-ITOH Technology College signed the agreement with Mayor Mai Chaiyanit Dec. 3, a day before the annual Thai environment commemoration.

Mai said the sub-district is constantly expanding its sustainable-environment campaign to provide knowledge and raise awareness of natural resources issues and conservation. Examples included teaching the public and industry not to release wastewater and to use biodegradable shopping bags.
