Online gamblers nabbed in Pattaya raids

Police arrested dozens of people allegedly gambling online in raids of two Pattaya apartments.

Officers first stormed a small apartment house behind the Sophon Market where Weerapoj Weerakul, 40, and an undisclosed number of gamblers, mostly motorcycle taxi drivers, were arrested. Five computers used for placing bets online were confiscated.

Police then hit an apartment block behind the Avenue galleria on Second Road, arresting 25 people and seizing several computers and cash.

All the suspects were charged with illegal gambling.
