Construction on a new flood-drainage pipeline under Pattanakarn Road is scheduled for completion by March 7, Naklua Sub-district officials said.
Kijakarnruamkha Sirisopa Co. was hired a year ago for 52.6 million baht to widen Pattanakarn to eight meters along its 2.2 kilometers and resurface it with concrete as thick as 25 centimeters. It also was tasked with laying new drainage pipes.
Workers install a new flood-drainage pipeline under Pattanakarn Road.
Contractors dug up the road from the Pattanakarn Intersection to Phuyai Kuey Market. Caution signs were erected, but traffic continued to be a problem. Workers have been spraying down the work site with water to keep dust down.
Pattanakarn is a busy road that connects sois Nernplabwan, Khao Noi, Khao Talo, Chaiyapruek and others. But the roadway is low-lying and is subject to flooding and landslides.
