After nearly a year of roadwork, a completed Pattanakarn Road fully opened to the public for the New Year celebration.

With all new drainage tunnels underneath, the resurfaced Nongprue Road also has fancy new lighting. Completion was set for Jan. 7, but contractors finished a week early in what was a gift to motorists during the busy New Year’s weekend.

Work on the eight-meter-wide road brought the surface to 25 centimeters thick over its 1.9-kilometer span. Work began Jan. 28 last year.

The first half of the job, running from the Baan Lang intersection to Tara Pattana School, was completed first. The second half of the project, from the school to Tungklom-Tanman Road, began in September.

The 44.6-million-baht project was completed by Supatra Ruamkha Nongprue.
