The Foundation For the Blind in Thailand will commemorate its 80th anniversary with a Bike with the Blind bicycle trek through Pattaya May 12.
Deputy Mayor Manote Nongyai chaired an April 23 planning meeting with tourism officials and organizers Nongnart Hanwilai, assistant managing director for Cooperate Strategy and CSR, and Cid Suknoo, director of the Redemptorist School for the Blind.
The foundation has hosted rides for blind cyclists – escorted by sighted riders – in six provinces, including Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Khon Kaen, Surat Thani and Nakhon Ratchasima.
Registration begins at 5 a.m. with wheels rolling at 7 a.m. from Pattaya City Hall. Riders will traverse Beach and Second roads and take Naklua Road to the blind school where community service activities will be held.
Following that event, cyclists will continue to Sawangfa Road to Sukhumvit Road and making a U-turn at Jittapawan College before heading back along North Road to city hall. (PCPR)
