Jomtien Beach residents got city hall to block off a route through a housing complex used by speeding motorcycles.
Deputy Mayor Pattana Boonsawat met March 7 with residents at the Thepprasit housing project who were upset the government development opened an entrance to the village that ran between buildings. The route quickly became a shortcut for motorbikes who sped through, posing a danger to pedestrians.
The residents implored the city to block the entrance with a steel pole so that only pedestrians could use the route.
Pattana agreed and dispatched city engineers to construct the barrier.
