Pattaya lawyers will offer free legal advice and assistance to tourists and residents at an expanded legal center at the Pattaya Court in Jomtien Beach.
Pornsak Thepasuwan, director-general of Region 2 Attorney General’s Office, and Walking Street Community President Methakrit Suntharas April 30 signed an agreement to promote the services, which will see legal professionals and volunteers provide assistance in matters including opening businesses, buying properties, reconciling private disputes, domestic violence and environmental crimes.
Pattaya Deputy Mayor Ronakit Ekasingh hailed the agreement, saying Walking Street Community members will be able to promote the availability of the services to workers as well as tourists visiting the popular tourist strip.
Pol. Maj. Gen. Khatcha Thatsart, commander of Chonburi station, Pornsak Thepasuwan, director-general of the Attorney-General’s office region 2, and Ronakit Ekasingh, deputy mayor of Pattaya City, answer questions for the media.
“It will allow residents and tourists to learn and understand the law, facilitate the initial justice system for citizens facing difficulties correctly, justly and rapidly,” he said, adding that collaboration agreements will be signed with other communities to promote the legal center as well.
Pol. Maj. Gen. Khatcha Thatsart, commander of Chonburi station, said police and bureaucrats will meet to lay out guidelines for the new center.
