The Pattaya Courthouse is helping Pattaya-area residents prepare for the ASEAN Economic Community by educating them on dispute settlement and related laws.
Chief Justice Apichart Thepnu held court at the Prachakhom conference pavilion in Banglamung June 3 as over 100 residents and business owners gained understanding of laws governing legal disputes and court settlements.

“When Thailand enters the AEC in 2015, there will be more freedom in and movement of labor, money, tourism, and real estate,” Judge Apichart explained. “Pattaya must prepare itself to handle these changes which may lead to many social issues and conflicts.”
Topics covered private disputes between residents and conflicts between businesses and communities. Judge Apichart said dispute resolution can also reduce costly and timely court trials.
