Pattaya will kick off the Year of the Rat with festivals in Naklua and Walking Street Jan. 25.
The official Chinese New Year commemorations will be held at Lan Po Public Park and the nightlife strip to boost high season tourism.
There will be lion and dragon dances, acrobat performances, fire shows, pole climbing and concerts by leading artists.
As per custom, a children’s pageant for tykes 7-9 years old will be held, with applications being taken at city hall until Jan. 10.
