Pattaya honours exemplary fathers on Father’s Day

PATTAYA, Thailand – Pattaya City Hall hosted a special ceremony on December 4 to pay tribute to fathers who were awarded the “Exemplary Father of the Land” certificate for the year 2023. The event, organized by the Pattaya Cultural Council and Chonburi Cultural Affairs, coincided with the auspicious occasion of the birth of His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej, which is nationally celebrated as Father’s Day on December 5.



The ceremony was presided over by Mayor Poramet Ngampichet, who expressed appreciation for the significant turnout and emphasized the importance of fostering family bonds and acknowledging the role of fathers in society. The event also aimed to honour the late King and instil gratitude for the royal benevolence.

The ceremony featured various activities, including art performances by students from Pattaya-affiliated schools. The highlight was the presentation of the “Exemplary Father of the Land” certificates to 45 deserving fathers, recognizing their outstanding contributions to their families and communities.

Manat Yaprakam, the President of the Cultural Council of Pattaya, delivered the objectives of the event, which sought to promote love and respect for fathers and encourage positive values and relationships within families. He said that the project marked its inaugural year and hoped that it would become an annual tradition.

This event not only celebrated Father’s Day but also served as an opportunity to instil good values in the younger generation, reinforcing the importance of love, respect, and gratitude towards fathers.
