Officials are investigating sewage-like pollution stinking up the South Pattaya Canal.
Deputy Mayor Pattana Boonsawad led health and sanitation workers to the waterway Aug. 7 following reports of black sediment fouling water in the canal.
Water samples were taken and nets installed to trap garbage and sewage at each end of the canal.
Pattaya said the black dirt floating on the water’s surface like was flushed out of sewer system cesspools.
