Pattaya, Thailand – Pattaya Mayor Poramet Ngampichet, accompanied by Deputy Mayor Manot Nongyai and a team of officials, visited the construction site of a flood prevention drainage system project in Soi Kasemsuwan 15 on June 30. The project, aimed at addressing flooding issues, involves excavating and installing HDPE drainage pipes and reconstructing road surfaces in the area.
The road reconstruction spans approximately 1,050 meters from the Wat Chaimongkol Temple intersection to Soi 10 on Pattaya Second Road. Simultaneously, reconstruction work is taking place in Soi Kasemsuwan 15, covering a distance of approximately 894 meters from the intersection near Soi Buakhao to the adjacent intersection.
During the inspection, the officials focused on three specific locations. The road surface at the Chaimongkol Temple intersection is set to be completed by July 3. However, modifications in Soi 15 along Pattaya Second Road have caused some delays in the restoration process. The contractor is now working diligently to expedite the construction and aims to finish before the upcoming Pattaya Marathon scheduled for July 22-23. Contingency plans are in place to prepare temporary road surfaces if needed to ensure the safety of marathon participants.
While progress has been made, construction work in the section from Soi Kasemsuwan 15 to the Soi Buakhao Intersection is still ongoing, with approximately 300 meters remaining to be completed.
Mayor Poramet emphasized the importance of adhering to the contractual agreement and urged the contractor to accelerate the construction process, targeting a timely completion in July.
