Pattaya will offer free rabies vaccinations and pet sterilization for the next three months to control the stray dog and cat population.

Mayor Anan Charoenchasri kicked off the 84 days of services to be offered throughout the city March 1 at the Street Dog Control and Problem Solving Station at Nongyai Temple.

Increasing of number of dogs and cats has caused problems for people and tourists and officials fret about the spread of rabies among the wild animals.

Veterinaries joined the Public Health Department to offer shots from 8:30 a.m. and sterilizations until 3:30 p.m.

Each of Pattaya’s 42 neighborhoods will have services offered at temples and community centers through June.
