Local officials campaigned against alcohol and cigarette use at a labor workshop in Pattaya.

Banglamung District Chief Naris Niramaiwong and Pattaya City Manager Wuthipol Charoenpol opened the March 28 seminar for 70 companies at Wutthichotborirak School.

The event featured a lecture on the efforts of anti-drinking networks by Chalermkiat Jomkaew, coordinator of the No Drinking Network Eastern Region, and a panel discussion titled “Thai Labor 4.0 and Risk Factors” participated in by representatives from various Chonburi labor and employment offices.

The event was organized to stress that alcohol and tobacco use erode the productivity of the workforce and giving up both can also lead to a happier workplace.

The seminar also featured exhibitions of safety, education, non-formal education, learning centers and health-promotion networks.
