Pattaya’s entire police force submitted to drug tests as part of a “white station” campaign to set an example and encourage the public not use illegal narcotics.
Pol. Col. Sukthat Pumpunmuang, chief of Pattaya Police, brought patrol and traffic officers, investigators and suppression officers, along with administrators to the Hollywood disco in North Pattaya for the Jan. 19 test.
Pattaya’s entire police force was brought to Hollywood Disco to submit to drug tests as part of a “white station” campaign.
Sukthat said the “White Police Station” campaign was initiated by the head of police in Chonburi, who demanded all officers submit to urine tests to prove they are drug-free.
A total of 470 officers undertook urine tests that were announced without warning. Every tested officer passed.
The police chief said any officer who fails a test now or in the future will be arrested and prosecuted.
Future drug tests are planned for police volunteers as well.
