A Pattaya police volunteer was arrested after the discovery he was a suspect in a string of robberies.
Pol. Maj. Gen. Thanet Phinmueang-ngam, commander of Provincial Police Region 2, and Chonburi police chief, Maj. Gen. Nitipong Niamnoi said on Oct. 7 that Rungroj Sangkasinsu, 47, was wanted for 10 separate crimes.
Pattaya police took Rungroj, a motorcycle taxi driver who works as a volunteer part-time, for a re-enactment of his confessed offenses throughout Pattaya, including a necklace snatch in front of a Pattaya hotel in front of a group of tourists.
Pattaya police took Rungroj around Pattaya to a number of places for a re-enactment of his confessed offenses.
Police said the Chiang Rai native confessed to being a thief for three years and would sell the contraband at pawn shops. He apologized for diminishing the image of Pattaya and police volunteers, but will be tried nonetheless.
