Pattaya police want to hear your complaints, as long as you send them via the Line app.

That was the message Pol. Maj. Chainarong Chaiin, the head of community relations, had for residents of Central Pattaya’s Chumsai Community on his second visit there in a week June 15.

Pattaya police and Chumsai have established an anti-drug program meant to rid the neighborhood of drugs by allowing users, and even dealers, to come forward for treatment without fear of arrest.

On his first visit, Chainarong launched random drug searches on sois Chalermprakiat 13, Buakhao and Taengmo with the intent of enrolling any drug users found in a rehab program at the end of this month.

This time, he and community leaders called on residents of Soi Chalermprakiat 15 and Soi Yim Yam, educating them about the program but also inviting them to submit complaints about the police or report neighborhood problems with drugs, gambling or theft via a new group on the Line mobile messaging app.
