Pattaya recognizes 84 for anti-graft efforts

Pattaya recognized the efforts of 84 civil servants and educators to combat corruption as the city joined the national government’s “war on corruption”.

Deputy Mayor Wattana Chantanawaranon and Permanent Secretary Wuttipol Charoenpol presented the badges following an anti-corruption workshop attended by city workers.

The seminar was organized by the Office of Public Section Anti-Corruption Commission and Center of Academic Services at Srinakharinwirot University to create a network against corruption to prevent and suppress graft in government.

Moreover, the project aimed to raise awareness about corruption and show the value of honesty in government to gain the trust of the public.

In a high-profile speech on June 1, Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha declared his “war on corruption” and, via video conference on June 8, urged local governments to take their own pledge.
