PATTAYA, Thailand – Thailand’s Meteorological Department has reported that northern Thailand is experiencing a drop in temperature along with strong winds, while the southern region is facing heavy rainfall in some areas. In the lower Gulf of Thailand, waves are expected to reach heights of 2-3 meters, with thunderstorms causing waves to exceed 3 meters.

According to the department’s 24-hour weather forecast, a relatively strong high-pressure system is covering upper Thailand, resulting in cooler temperatures and strong winds. Residents in affected areas are advised to take precautions against the changing weather conditions.

Meanwhile, strong easterly winds over the Gulf of Thailand, the southern region, and the Andaman Sea are contributing to heavy rainfall in some southern areas. The lower Gulf of Thailand will see waves reaching 2-3 meters, with thunderstorms increasing wave heights beyond 3 meters.

The upper Gulf of Thailand and the lower Andaman Sea will have waves of 1-2 meters, with higher waves occurring offshore and in stormy areas. Residents in the south are advised to be cautious of heavy rain, while boat operators should avoid sailing in stormy conditions. Small boats in the lower Gulf of Thailand and the offshore lower Andaman Sea should remain ashore until March 21, 2025.
